About the event

Whether it be running a household, a business or your own busy life, we are all guilty of using up most of our time with operational tasks like checking emails, doing the housework, doing business admin and ticking tasks off our never ending to do list. Getting bogged down in day to day tasks can result in a sense of boredom, repetition and robotic like orientation to our lives. If we don't carve out time to look at the WHY, the bigger picture, think big thoughts and even dream big, we are at risk of not reaching our full potential.

Goals without valued direction, the why and how behind your behaviours, is like sailing without wind. This workshop is designed to help you design your own personal values plan to re-ignite that fire in your belly in your workplace and personal lives. Values are different from goals - Climbing Everest is a goal, travel and adventure are values. Valued direction broadens the landscape while goals can narrow it. When we set an external goal we can be unconsciously saying the present is “less than” or “not good enough”. The beauty of valued direction is that it is not dependent on external circumstance, you can live according to your values now without waiting for a future end point to feel good about yourself.

Dr Mel Taitimu will support you to step back, think big and re-orrient to your life with more gusto, energy and direction. You will also be treated to a nutritious lunch AND Allie Annand will take you through a gentle movement and meditation to finish off the workshop. Allie will support you to connect with yourself and what you have learnt on the day in order to move forward into your life with renewed focus and energy.

Within this workshop you will:

  • Understand what fuels your fire with the use of insights from neuroscience and positive psychology
  • Learn strategies to reignite passion, energy and spark back into your everyday life
  • Develop an awareness of internal and external barriers to living the life you want to live (time, energy, personal beliefs, attitudes of others)
  • Move away from expectations and black and white goals towards a three dimensional picture of the life you want to live
  • Tune into yourself and get to know what uniquely drives you and sustains change

This workshop is for:

  • Those wanting to feel more purpose and meaning in everyday life.
  • People who don’t buy into what the majority are telling us about what it means to be successful.
  • Those wanting to ditch the vision boards and rituals for manifestation and engage in critical conversations with others to challenge the status quo and learn the science behind our behaviours.
  • You may want to bring with you a particular issue, goal or direction to use as a focus for the workshop

You will take away:

  • Your own values map and plan for how to reignite passion and vitality in your personal life and career.
  • Inspiration from stimulating conversations with like minded people who are also on the path of self awareness
